Organizational knowledge

Organizational knowledge is the accumulated context of how a company works: documents, decisions, policies, customer history, and undocumented convention. In an AI system it is the material that makes answers specific to your organization rather than generically correct, and it must be retrieved subject to permissions.

Most of it is not in a database. It sits in tickets, threads, past proposals, and the memory of people who have been there a while, which is why knowledge integration is usually the longest part of an enterprise AI deployment.

It is also the asset that erodes silently. Precedent and reasoning leave with the people who built them unless something captures the connection between a decision and the context that produced it.
